The Senkaku Islands, also known as the Diaoyutai Islands in Chinese, are a group of disputed, uninhabited islands currently controlled by Japan, but also claimed by the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the People’s Republic of China. The islands are located roughly northeast of Taiwan, due west of Okinawa, and due north of the end of the Ryukyu Islands in the East China Sea.
On july 10, A 270-ton sports fishing boat, with 16 crew and deep-sea anglers aboard, sank off the Tiaoyutai islands in a collision with a Japanese frigate .
This incident has once again set off the territorial dispute. I would also like to learn from Google Earth on its location and terrain conditions. On the Internet I found some information, including the aerial photos whick was taken by Japan in 1978, the topographic map which was made by Taiwan Government and aerial shots of the newspaper.
I use Google Earth Plugin with embed method to produce this collection . You can press the directions to go to the bird’s eye view respectively. Press the “parade” will be non-stop around the Diaoyutai Island.
